About Elbofeh: The Story and the Team Behind the App
Elbofeh (البوفيه) is a free mobile app for running a company's office pantry, developed by TakeYourSite in Cairo, Egypt. Employees order from their phones, the office boy receives every order on his, and each employee's balance is kept automatically.
How did it start?
The idea goes back to 2013, in our own office. We had the problem every office knows: staff calling the office boy from every corner, forgotten orders, and a notebook nobody agreed with at the end of the month. That year we sketched the first app to fix it for ourselves.
For years after that we were busy building other ideas and projects for many companies. But the pantry problem was still there in every office we visited.
So we came back to it, built the app with every idea we had collected along the way, and decided to offer it free to every company. Elbofeh launched in September 2026.
What we believe
- An order should be recorded the moment it is placed, by the person who places it.
- The office boy deserves a tool that helps him, not a notebook he is blamed for.
- Every employee should see their own balance, any time, with no month-end surprises.
- Good tools should not be only for big companies — which is why Elbofeh is free, with no subscription and no limit on employees.
What the app does
Employees order from the company's pantry menu with photos and prices and follow each order and their wallet; the office boy receives orders with a sound alert, manages the menu, tops up wallets and reads the reports. The interface is Arabic, and it works in 22 Arab countries with each country's currency and time zone. Read more on the office pantry app page.
